It’s only one word

It is one word,
or two,
often unheard.
It doesn’t cost much,
to say,
not as such.
Why is it then,
that we forget,
again and again.
Its only a word,
or two,
“Thanks.” “Thank you.”
Mostly, I write fiction. But on Medium, I write poetry for my own amusement. Currently battling long COVID, I expect some of my writing to focus on that too
